Internet is Alive Cartoon

June 11, 2009

The internet is a chaos. It is broken into millions of tiny pieces. Nothing is organized and everything changing as you read this. Feeds are pumping more and more posts, links and comments all the time. It’s alive and sleeps never. When you start to think about it, it’s actually little bit scary. A creature built by man. And it’s growing.

Who draws it

Good thing with the restless network known as internet is that it has no limits. This means what ever you or anyone else thinks up is possible to create. It is like a cartoon. You can imagine anything to happen and it can happen. Difference between the cartoon and internet is that internet lives. While a cartoon is drawn only once, the internet is alive giant cartoon with real people in it. Those real people like you, me and a million others are sketching it right now. Some are typing text, others clicking, while some are browsing and watching videos. What ever you do, it always leaves a mark.

You are Picasso

When you focus to positive sides such as that you can be Picasso of the universe, it gives you a certain feeling. A feeling of almightiness. Finally humans are able to have a-God-like-playground to experiment creativity. Although things are not yet tangible here, they will be you can bet on it. So what do you with this power? Where do you go clicking from here? Or do you deny that this world doesn’t exist and carry on living your life like nothing has happened?

Let Seniors Save Your Business

June 2, 2009

Which one do you think is better: screwing up because you didn’t know or because you didn’t ask? For a moment let us focus to people called baby boomers. The generation who were born after the Second World War and they made what Western world is. Yes, you can blame them for all the good and bad things happening today.

Is it their fault?

People who are now in their 60’s are pretty much responsible for everything happening around the globe right now. They started burning oil without considering environment, they built the economic system that now has crashed, they made Coca-Cola more available around developing countries than pure water. It is not a resume you wish have when you retire. So does this mean baby boomers have raped the Earth for the past 60 years?

Can you do this?

Sure, those people have lived life to the fullest when it comes to resources this land has to offer. While doing that they also have created freedom. The freedom to write, to read, to speak, to be what ever you want. What ever you want. A remarkable philosophy. That all man are free. And not just write it down like guys with long wigs did couple hundred years ago, but the baby boomers actually made it happen.

Wipe out seniors?

When everyone is free to be what they want sometimes things go too far. Mistakes happen. But the funny thing about doing mistakes is that you tend to learn from them. Often a lesson is so valuable that you are glad you made a mistake in a first place. You may even feel privileged to be able to understand it fully after stumbling. What we want to do now as a next generation is to clear out people who have failed. To wipe out 60 years of past failures to start fresh.

Is your way the right way?

What do you think happens after the baby boomers are gone? Do you think we are better off? Now, we can go on and make our own mistakes and learn from them. Eventually we will be successful because that is the law of cause and effect. You try until you succeed. Wait a second. Does it really have to be that way? Could we just once learn from other people’s mistakes without having to make the same mistakes again?

What is human?

The title “Let Seniors Save Your Business” could be what we need right now. When everything is falling apart economically, ecologically and even socially. Instead of throwing away people who have failed you would give them a second chance. To try again and this time more intelligently. Isn’t a second chance something you would like to get as well the next time when you have fail?

Ben & Jerry’s – Are They Tribe Leaders?

April 30, 2009

Out of the blue Ben & Jerry’s decided to pull away one of their most delicious product in Finland. Flavor called Phish Food. Not the bestselling ice cream they expected it to be since it just made room to other flavors. That is what Ben & Jerry’s in Finland said when I asked them about this. But did they miss something?

Will this hurt Ben & Jerry’s brand?

This is a wild theory but try to bare with me. Will it hurt the brand when they deny one product from fanatic Ben & Jerry fans? Phish Food flavor is not something you would eat everytime you buy Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, but it is the one and only flavor which makes people obsessed enough to start support groups to get it back. Visit Facebook group here. If you like the cause by all means join along.

If their sales figure shows that everything is okay, then great. But if  they ask from their fans is their relationship with Ben & Jerry’s a same, then I would say no.

Ignore Apple Users

April 15, 2009

Do it. The market share of Apple in computers is only 10 %. For most marketers that means peanuts. A lousy fraction of the whole cake. However, this doesn’t have to mean you. Because you know that it is crucial to get early adaptors to love your site. They are quick to try new things and stand out from the crowd. They are the ones who spread your idea. Most of them are Apple fanatics. And they use Mac.

Someone will say now that it takes too much effort to make your site to work both on PC and Mac. And they are right. It is easier to make a product aimed directly to masses. But, to get it sold to the crowds you need people the early adaptors.

What if instead of aiming where everyone else is aiming, you choose a completely different target? Instead of showing that you don’t care, you take an alternative approach. You care. Because you know that a small group of brand enthusiastics can make your product a success. Imagine if your brand would get even 10 % of that same love that Apple users show to their mothership? Your servers would crash due to the traffic boom and eventually you would be acquired by Microsoft or Google. So I say don’t try. Keep up with an old view, it is safer.

Introducing New Kebab Subway Sandwich

April 14, 2009

Traditional Subway sandwich meets delicious kebab lamb meat. The sandwich has a spicy taste from pepper flavored tomato sauce. The kebab sliced between a grain wheat bread is at its best with Chipotle Southwest chili mayo. Including fresh vegetables and a few extra jalopenos. Taste of Kebab Subway Sandwich is mouthwatering. To cool off some of the hotness you can add a portion of natural yoghurt to your sandwich. That makes a perfect combination with all the exotic sauces, warm bread, fresh lettuce and spicy kebab meat. Served with ice cold Coke.

Unfortunately this sandwich doesn’t exist. You heard it here first. The author would love to sink his teeth into one. If you know where I can get a sandwich like this, please let me know.

The Last Book You Will Ever Have To Read

March 22, 2009

Are you lazy and incompetent? If you are anything like the rest of us, there is a fair chance that you enjoy staying inside your comfort zone more than you enjoy moving outside from it. When it comes to reading books we tend postpone it as long as possible. Even when we know that the book would be useful and interesting. What if I told you that there is a book which is the last book you will ever have to read? Would you bother to read the introduction of it? If your answer is yes, there is still hope.

I’m not reffering to bible or any other religious book. Although this book has touched directly to 20 million people. You have been effected as well by its influence through those millions of people. This all has happened without you even noticing, and there lies the beauty and secret of it.

The book is Dale Carnegie’s How To Win Friends & Influence People. Do yourself a favor and read it. I promise you can go through your whole life knowing that you don’t need to read another book.
